Workshop for new, re-emerging or rusty writers: Dwellingup, WA. April 22, 2022

Welcome new, emerging, re-emerging and every other kind of writer for a day-long skills-based writing workshop in beautiful Dwellingup, Western Australia.

What are we doing?

The focus of the day will be on the skills and process involved in writing a scene – a discrete section of an overall story with a problem, challenge, and a resolution.

Individual scenes are the building blocks of writing, regardless of the type of story you want to tell, and whether you intend your story to end up being 500 or 5000 – or 50,000 words!

Through linking scenes, you build the narrative into a bigger story – moving your characters, their problems and challenges, and their action forward.

Writing scenes is a skill that newer writers can find hard to master. Understanding a few simple things about the techniques that result in effective scenes will help give you a push to take your writing project forward.

Liana has taught at four of Western Australia’s Universities, as well as being a tutor for The Writing Connection.

Absolutely not! Just an interest in talking about writing and developing your writing repertoire.
